Dina is of Greek and Italian heritage and is an avid traveler. In 2019, she introduced Travel Deeper Yoga Retreats, allowing participants to experience life like a native resident. Mediterranean retreats are hosted in both Greece, and Italy.
Dina has been practicing yoga for twenty years and successfully teaching and healing for fifteen.
She specializes in yoga for scoliosis, general back pain, injury rehab, posture strengthening and the creation of a stronger, more mobile and injury resistant physique via the SQUARE 1 System for neurological organization. It is through her own struggle with scoliosis and back pain that she found the path to helping others with unique needs. Dina has a discerning eye for the asymmetric body and her therapeutic style helps bring her students and clients back into structural alignment. She views the body as art that can be reshaped primarily through the proper organization of the nervous system.
She studied Iyengar Yoga with teachers who learned directly from the founder of Iyengar Yoga, B.KS. Iyengar.
She has studied with Certified Master Iyengar Teacher Karin Stephan for more than a decade, learning alignment and how best to correct the asymmetric body via Iyengar Yoga. Karin was one of the first students of B.K.S Iyengar and founder of the Iyengar Yoga method credited for bringing yoga to America.
Dina also studied for years in Italy with her Senior CIYT, David Meloni. David is the highest certified Iyengar teacher in the world, and studied with the Master B.K.S Iyengar for twenty two years consecutively before opening Iyengar Yoga Rahasya Center in Florence, Italy.
She has also studied anatomy, physiology, diaphragmatic breathing and functional movement patterns to provide a wholistic approach to wellness.
Under her mentor Dr. Heath Lambert, Dina has studied anatomy, physiology, normal infant development, proper diaphragmatic breathing for core stabilization, and functional movement. Dr. Lambert is an upper cervical doctor who holds a masters in kinesiology and a doctorate degree in chiropractic. Dina also is an advocate for wholistic health and wellness, having direct experience with its unparalleled, even life saving benefits.
In 2020, Dina was fortunate enough to discover Shawn Sherman’s groundbreaking work via his SQUARE 1 System. This framework allows the practitioner to interview the nervous system and determine how the body perceives certain joint actions, postures, and movements. SQUARE 1 has the ability to change fundamental movement patterns, permitting Dina the opportunity to remedy her own scoliosis and chronic pain issues.
Dina is recognized for her skills in providing relaxation and stress relief techniques.
She facilitates and leads yoga for chronic illness, restorative yoga, meditation, sound healing, breathwork, and Young Living Essential Oil therapy.
These skills in stress relief teach clients how to engage the relaxation response to quiet the mind, dissolve tensions, relax deeply, connect to self, improve harmony, and increase longevity.
Dina teaches from a place of deep compassion and is honored to guide others to a place of healing, inner peace, and freedom.
She is also an avid writer, traveler, and lover of deep conversation and connection with community. Through her website blogs, Dina loves to embody and share her wisdom and life experience with the world. She is blessed to be both a pioneer and pillar in the Tampa Bay wellness community.
